Who I Am

Evie Higgins is a 20-year-old singer, songwriter, and actress who channels her life experiences into vulnerable and enchanting melodies, lyrics, and vocals. Based in the NJ-NY area, she regularly performs locally and has sung the National Anthem at several professional sporting events—including the WNBA playoff game between the New York Liberty and the Atlanta Dream at Barclays Center in Brooklyn this past September.

Evie was a contestant on Season 21 of American Idol, a transformative experience that shaped her both personally and artistically. Inspired by words of encouragement from Lionel Richie, she left the show with renewed determination to pursue her passion.

Her love for singing began early—at just three years old, she climbed onto a chair at her mom’s workplace and started performing. By age five, she was already immersed in musical theater, a passion that remains a major part of her identity. Evie further honed her craft at the Kristin Chenoweth Broadway Bootcamp, where she learned from Broadway professionals including Kevin Chamberlin, Michael Orland, and Celeste Simone. She performed in the opening number with Kristin Chenoweth and received a Kristi Award from Marissa Jaret Winokur.

Evie’s music explores the emotional complexities of growing up, touching on themes of heartbreak, love, and friendship. She aspires to be a recording artist, be on Broadway, and be an actress in TV and film. Through years of working toward her goals, she is determined to succeed in the business. Through her hardships, Evie puts her pain into her songs and finds an escape through writing. Evie continues to develop as an artist and a person and is looking forward to releasing her next single soon.
